schedule
In editing i have had a play around with several effects to see which one i would prefer as the plain simple video may be too boring the same the whole way through.
This is me editing the footage i have, i am playing around with effects and this is high contrast and the brightness increased also. I am not 100% sure whether this is the effect i will use but definitely consider it.

08/10/09 plan of action
I need to put together a schedule to know when me and the band can film to get the most film time together.
Over the next week i need to start filming and any changes made will have to be added into my planning to ensure the changes have been recognised and noted for when doing my next storyboard.

Proposal
The audience are likely to be between the ages of 17-30 the reason being because the band use local venues and gigs to get their music heard and the places they play are places which are mainly suitable for 18 year olds and over. However this isn’t always the case. The band also use web 2 to get their music across such as face book and myspace, however for people to add them they will have needed something to tick it off, such as seeing them live. The sex of the audience isn’t likely to be more of one sex than the other. Although stereotypically you would think it would be a more male dominated audience, in the venues they play their gigs there tend to be a equal balance of males and females. The audience are likely to live a party lifestyle as the majority of the time they play is on the weekends and late at night.
My video wont have a storyline as I feel that the majority of indie bands tend to not have a storyline but have a performance, or incorporate a performance and some sort of storyline together. However I feel I will have a balance of a performance and just the band behaving in a way that they come across when they play live, which is slightly comical in some cases but mostly dedicated. Other videos i have looked at were Arctic Monkeys debut video 'i bet that you look good on the dancefloor'. This video is just a performance based video of them playing live in a rehearsal hall which is the sort of idea I'm going to do. The video also has a slightly 80's feel to it, this is because of the filter over the top which minimizes all the colours and makes it look grainy and grey, potentially to say the band i got inspiration from bands in the 80's or wish that it was the 80's. The video is simple and involves the band performing with different close ups of specific instruments to draw the attention to that specific instrument, emphasizing it.
(I was unable to get the video to show so following this link will allow you to see it.)

In the ideas of the video the band will be represented as a fun loving band as I will be adding comical elements to portray this, such as juts of the band dancing around each other, or jump cuts of the band dancing around, adds to the slightly humour effect I am aiming for as that’s the way the band represent themselves when playing live.
I think I would find this type of video on either the NME channel or MTV 2 the reason being is these are the 2 channels that play videos from small emerging bands that are just joining the scene and also the videos they play are very indie/rock and roll based. So these types of channels would be perfect for the video I would like to create. This video would promote the band as a fun loving indie band that enjoy playing live and don’t take it too seriously, like they are creating music for the fact that this is what they love doing and not just for the money.

Various shots
inspiration
Os Vampiros
Os Vampiros play on a regular basis around the local party scene, from Indie bars like Rude Bar and Studio 22 to smaller pubs like the Spinning Wheel and to larger venues like the Hippo in Plymouth were the likes of Funeral For A Friend have recently played. All these places are typical indie scenes, which regularly get upcoming local bands to play. This means the type of audience to watch them play are likely to be a more younger audience between the ages of around 17-30 as pubs don't have an age restriction and younger people ten to try and get into them. The type of people is individual music lovers that don't follow the mainstream pop, r'n'b music. each will have their own individual preference but as a whole tend to all gather in the same places. Also with places like these there tend to be a variation of male and females there aren't more of one sex than the other. And because they are local, a part of the audience are likely to be dedicated fans and there friends.
the genre of the music is supported in the type of clothes they wear and the places that they play. the clothes they wear are the typical skinny jeans, polo tops/shirts combination, with pumps and maybe cardigans/hoodies/waistcoat. This is the type of clothing that is stereotypically matched with indie scene, although it means individual personal preferences are important.
The band have been described as sounding like arctic monkeys, Liam Gallagher kind of music, however they are way more mainstream than what Os vampiros sound like. And although they are smaller local band i don't feel they sound like that, and a lot of their fans seem to agree with me.
Location idea
Potential clothing ideas
Within the indie music genre, fashion plays a huge part on the way the band are represented. The reason i have chosen skinny jeans is the fact that bthe band wear this type of clothing anyway so its just continuing their own fashion sense. Also that is what alot of the other indie bands wear, so im just following this rule so that they look like they are following the fashion and not standing out to be individual.
Pumps
Polo tops
Similar with the pumps, polo tops arent very formal and can look scruffy which is continuing the look i would like to go for. In a sense it is kind of a dirty look as similar bands play endless gigs on long tours and chances are they wont have packed much clothes and living the party lifestyle. So by wearing unironed polo tops o shirts, with dirty pumps and tight scruffy skinny jeans, portrays the band in this kind of way, and this is just following the rule similar bands tend to do.
This would relate to the audience in a sense that they arent a upper class band and by wearing ordinary clothes from the highstreet it relates to the younger audience who wear similar clothes. And with indie music on the male side of the audience they would wear similar clothes just maybe wear it in a different way. So just by the fashion itself it can relate to the audience in a more natural down to earth way as they arent to fussed as to what they look like and thats what alot of people are like, they dont care for other peoples opinons.

Madonna-Music
In this video madonna is represented in a more elegant way, shown by what she is wearing and how her hair is, as all these factors make her look more classy. She is portrayed as a beauty queen who everyone looks up to. This music video is obviously for a film and so madonna is represented in a way that would link with the film. She is portrayed as a highly respected role model with the way she is moving is very soft and gentle and is like everyone is to look up to her. This links with the song as its not a fast pacey song, its a slow ballad, with very gentle sounds and this links with the music video. possibly someone famous as its like she is talking infront of a huge crowd which all seem to love her as by the end they are all cheering and screaming
